4 ways to keep your wedding flowers forever

Tips from a past bride

If, like me, you are a massive flower fan, it’s highly likely the bouquet you receive from your florist on your wedding morning will be the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen. Fun fact, T from Campbell’s Flowers, who we were lucky enough to have do all our wedding florals, was the first person to make me cry on our big day last year - and I surprisingly didn’t cry much throughout the day at all! I loved my bouquet so much that I pretty much refused to put it down, and it was a super hot day so the flowers were a bit worse for wear by the end of the celebrations!

So, here are my 4 favourite ways to conserve your bridal bouquet to keep your sweet wedding day memories alive:

1. Dry your bouquet

The first very important point to note here, is that this needs planning ahead of time. Most dried floral artists will require a few months notice and will arrange in advance how to look after your flowers and have them shipped, as it’s very important your blooms reach them in the best possible condition, to achieve the best possible results!

You can choose from a variety of different drying techniques and framing options, and it’s always worth searching for local businesses to you to shop around before your big day. A few of my favourites are:

2. Order a bouquet illustration

I may be biased, but this is one of my favourite options as it requires no planning - which is often a preferable option when you’re in full wedding admin mode and there are 1001 things on your to do list! Ordering a custom Wildwood Paper bouquet art print can be done at any point. Typically I have orders placed in advance as a gift voucher for the perfect wedding present or as the best first (paper) anniversary gift.

Trust me, this is an anniversary gift your wife will definitely want.

3. Print and frame a high quality photograph

As I hadn’t been organised enough to plan ahead for drying my bouquet, and as I kept it with me out of water all day in 30 degree heat… I decided to have one of my beautiful photos of it taken by our incredible photographer, Maytree Photography, printed up and framed. And I highly recommend! Now we just have to decide which other ones from our gallery to print - there’s so much choice! If you’re currently wedding planning and looking for a photographer, honestly look no further.

4. Order a study style bouquet print

This is a way I absolutely love preserving flowers, as they all get to individually sing on the page, and you are creating a beautiful piece of floral art for your home that doesn’t necessarily scream wedding. Think of it as a subtle nod. Available in either A4 or A3 size, with an identification key to differentiate between each bloom underneath, and to remember your favourite flowers forever in an alternative bouquet print.

Here are some previous examples:

And don’t just take my word for it, here’s what other people have to say:

‘Absolutely the most beautiful botanical keepsake of my wedding bouquet. Grace was very attentive to the details and made the most beautiful lasting keepsake!’

- Jasmina, USA

‘I’m absolutely in love with it! We got married in America and I left my bouquet in the hotel. I wish I would’ve taken some of the petals or the ribbon home with me, at the time I didn’t even think, and when got home I was really sad about it! However this is a lovely way of remembering your wedding bouquet. I’m so over the moon with the end result. Thanks again :)’

- Lucy, West Yorkshire

‘Grace was incredible with correspondence- she was quick to reply and produced the most beautiful bouquet for me. She kept me updated on when it would arrived and sent the preview before she printed it for me to view. I love it!’

- Kathryn, Scotland

‘I ordered this as a surprise 1st anniversary present for my friend. Grace was so helpful and suggested options, even matching the background to the colour of the bridesmaids dresses without asking! Would totally recommend this as a gift and arrived much sooner than expected on excellent quality card! Thanks Grace for all your help!’

- Alice, Peterborough

‘All the options for drying my beautiful bouquet seemed so expensive, but I wanted a way to remember the most beautiful flowers I’ve ever had. I sent Grace 3 different pictures, she’s incredibly talented and she sent my gorgeous print super quickly! She sent a digital print to check I was happy, gave me the option of adding the date, and honestly I couldn’t be happier. Just another lovely reminder of my favourite day ever. Thanks so much Grace, so happy!’
